My client in the Yorkshire Region is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon that is looking to take the next step in their career. This role is a mix of clinical and none clinical work. You will still be get a chance to keep up with you clinical work but you will be able to develop and nurture your leadership and commercial skills.
As an Area Principal Vet for our West Yorkshire region you will work with peers across the group to drive patient care standards, scope of service, client service level and employment proposition. They are looking for an experience vet that wants to develop as a vet and manager but also can work collaboratively to drive change and promote new ways of working at a local and group-wide level.
Your remit is a wide one, including responsibility for managing the Lead Vets, leading implementation and optimisation of services across the sites, and driving commercial performance. You will inspire a positive, supportive culture of development and investment in the staff. Our Clients surgeries are fast-paced meaning the caseload changes daily. The surgeries are well equipped with the latest industry-standard technology including; X-Ray, advanced ultrasound, and advanced orthopaedic services.

Part of your role will be to collaborate with your peers across the groups to focus on removing barriers to care and living the clients values.
To be successful in this role you’ll have a social heart, be highly skilled, and keen to progress in a busy not-for-profit environment. Responsible for the operations of the inpatient, emergency, consulting, and surgical vet services, you will already be an experienced people manager but you should also be a real team player who will participate in the clinical rota.
You’ll share the vision for working within a not-for-profit environment and you’ll be keen to work as part of a highly skilled and experienced team while committing to providing the highest standard of care to owners and their pets. As Area Principal Vet will also have;
Good standards of patient and client care
Strong organisation and time management skills
Strong commercial acumen
Project management experience is advantageous
40 Hour working week, with allocated clinical and management time
Whilst this person will participate in the clinical rota, protected time will be given to ensure the delivery of objectives
A commitment to the clinical weekend rota may not be required long-term, however, robust round-the-clock coverage needs to be ensured
Salary scale £53,002 - £72,902
