We are seeking a Hospital Nurse Manager to join our busy 24-hour hospital in Camberwell, South London.

This is an exciting role to support with the day-to-day running of hospital, leading ward rounds with the on-site hospital vet and managing a team of qualified nurses and support staff.

This is a role with a strong emphasis on developing and leading the team to success, shaping how the hospital is run and being a support to the branch partners on site.

You will be able to enjoy the freedom and responsibility you need to build effective working relationships with your colleagues, creating a seamless one team approach onsite and with your regional colleagues.

In this role you will have support from your Deputy Head Nurse and wider Clinical Operations team. We also have a full support team therefore no reception duties and a dedicated night team to manage out of hour care.

Salary and hours: 

  • Salary up to £35,719 per annum DOE including £2000 London weighting
  • 40 hours with a mix of early and late shifts 
  • 1:4 weekends with time back in lieu 
  • CPD allowance £300 with 2 days CPD leave 
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Skills and experience:

Most importantly, you the successful RVN will relish a challenge of working within a busy hospital environment and have vision to push this hospital to the next level.

This role is the ideal stepping stone for those looking to develop their non-clinical skills or eager to progress further in their career as a future Area Manager.

Branch:

Medivet Camberwell is a bright and spacious, excellently equipped clinic with CT, digital x-ray, laparoscopic stack system, dental x-ray full in-house lab, sterrad sterilisation, ultrasound, separate dog and cat wards, isolation and two operating rooms.

Here, you can enjoy a purpose-built hospital which is only a few years old, providing a fantastic modern space to work in! There is also a lovely big staff area for lunches and shower room for those of you who wish to cycle to work or freshen up after your shift.

The hospital has a mixed caseload, currently seeing first opinion cases and referrals from our nine surrounding clinics.

We have a day / night team made up of seven vets with certificate holders in small animal surgery, endosurgery and internal medicine, eight nurses including SVN and PCA and reception team.
