Veterinary Surgeon

Full-time Veterinary Surgeon for independent small animal practice in a busy village near Lincoln. No OOH.

Small supportive team looking for another small animal vet to expand our busy practice and possibly offer additional services. Great place to work if you like getting to know your clients as well as your colleagues

The Practice

We are a well-established, independent, family-run practice in a large village near Lincoln. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care whilst remaining affordable to our clients and as a result we have a loyal client base

Our team currently consists of 3 Veterinary Surgeons, including a certificate holder and an experienced scanner, with a 4th vet available for holiday cover/ busier periods. We are supported by 5 registered veterinary nurses, 1 trainee RVN & 3 receptionists.

We have all the “usual toys”: ultrasound, digital xray (including dental xray), a bronchoscope and Idexx labstation with Procyte Dx & Catalyst one.
 
We have recently refurbished our premises and upgraded our cat kennels, reception area and consult rooms as well as adding in a new consult room and lab. We are a friendly team and share the work load but encourage case continuity.  

There are always at least 2 vets and 2-3 nurses (+ support staff) between 9 am and 6 pm. Sothere can be extra time and support for diagnostics or more difficult cases.

We do a large range of soft tissue surgery but no orthopaedics at present. In between consults and ops slots we discuss cases and family life and like to have a laugh & eat cake.

Location

7 miles from Historic Lincoln 15 miles from Newark with a direct, fast train link to London.

Saxilby is a large village with a Coop and some small shops, 2 pubs, medical centre and primary school. Nearby Lincoln has lots to offer for
with pubs, clubs, restaurants, but steeped in history with a castle, cathedral and cobbled areas.

The Role

We are looking for a confident, compassionate vet to join our growing
team. The position is for 4 (or 4.5) full days (rota from 8 am-6 pm or 9am-7pm) and 1 Saturday morning per month (8.30- 12.30). No out of hours.
The job entails a mixture of consults and surgery in a first opinion
practice. If you have a special interest we can adjust our rota to suit as we are keen to expand our services (and our knowledge).

practice is known for. Someone with the same ethos as us, that would fit
in our team and keep clients as well as the staff happy. 

The Package

Salary in line with experience, RCVS membership and VDS paid for, basic health insurance. CPD allowance and potential for certificates.
