The Practice

Kingsteignton Veterinary Group is a very well-respected veterinary practice known for its high standard of patient care and client care. The practice is equipped to a high level with excellent diagnostic imaging facilities including ultrasound, radiography, and dental radiography. The practice has access to CT locally if needed. We offer exotic medicine and surgery as well. The practice has a team of experienced clinicians and you can easily liaise with colleagues with interests and further qualifications (certificate/AP/Specialist) in a range of areas including exotics, cardiology, medicine, dermatology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, endoscopy, ophthalmology. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your own interests. Newton Abbot is close to the moors and the sea with great cycling routes and sites to go hiking running kayaking swimming paddle boarding and sailing. See more at kingsteigntonvet.co.uk.

We are located in Kingsteignton, a lovely town in the heart of South Devon between the sea and Dartmoor. It’s a great location for outdoor activities, but also with really easy access to the larger centres of Exeter, Torbay and Plymouth.

The Role

A very rewarding position as part of a dedicated team striving to provide the best in veterinary care in Newton Abbot. We are a close-knit team. The role has become available due to one of the veterinary team moving to a referral centre within IVC Evidensia to pursue referral aspirations. It is very much about work life balance and a supportive environment, to create a positive atmosphere in which to work in, at Kingsteignton Veterinary Group. We would expect that the post holder would work a 4-day week, although other options may be possible. We have a dedicated external OOH service but you will be required to be back up on call for visits and inpatients, one day a week, one Friday in 4 and one weekend in 4. There is a generous CPD budget and advanced certificate study is encouraged. Within this role there is likely to be some time spent at another local IVC Evidensia practice which provides first opinion and referral services.

Successful Candidate

This role could suit applicants with a variety of different backgrounds and experience: strong clinical and social skills are central to what is required. We are open to applications from candidates with certificates and particular areas of interest; to those who may be keen to have a leadership role within the veterinary team; and also, to more recent graduates.

The Package

Our rota, staff benefits package and salary are benchmarked against other jobs and we genuinely believe it can’t be beaten! Benefits include: a generous salary (where experience and further qualifications are further rewarded); 33 days leave per year (pro rata, inc bank holidays); extra leave for long service; your birthday off; a shift pattern designed to promote a great work-life balance– we’re happy to chat you through the details!

We offer a very generous CPD allowance both in terms of time and funding – this is tailored according to individual staff goals but can include time and funding for certificate or other further study.

We have a staff pension scheme in place and other schemes such as childcare vouchers where appropriate.

Enquires by phone to John on 01626 367972.
