We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in New Romney, Kent. This role would be ideally be suited to someone who has been in practice for some time, and wants to start developing their management and team leader skills in a supportive environment, assisted by two other clinical directors. You will enjoy managing your own varied caseload consisting of 1st opinion medical & surgical procedures, with the support of our Ashford Hospital to assist with the more complex cases. Our rota works on a 4 day week (FT) with generous time off for covering a 1 in 3 Saturday morning. Part time applications will also be considered.

Our New Romney clinic is based in this lovely costal town offering a fantastic relaxed lifestyle. Our recently refurbished clinic has a dedicated theatre, laboratory and digital x-ray facilities with the support of our nearby Hospital. We have a dedicated RVN, 2 part time vets and a lovely reception team to support you.

The successful candidate will be confident and experienced enough to handle routine sole charge and the day to day organisation of other team members. You should be confident with neutering, routine procedures & dentistry with the ability to manage your own caseload with 15 minute appointments. You will be an excellent communicator enjoy being part of the local community, working as part of a small but enthusiastic team offering a gold standard of care to our clients.

There has been a practice in New Romney for the last 40 years. In that time it has developed from being primarily agricultural with a small amount of companion animals to dealing exclusively with small animals.

The team comprises of Lindsay White who joined the practice in 2008 and is now one of the directors, Beccy, a full time RCVS registered nurse, and 6 receptionists, Sue Alderson, Dot Parr, Jane Haylett, Valerie Payne, Anne Bright and Carol Rose. Naomi Horwood and the other assistant vets divide their time between the Ashford hospital and the new Romney surgery

Over the years, the surgery has been extensively refurbished and remodelled so that behind the cottage façade there are up to date modern facilities. It has been awarded tier 2 status by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
The surgery is equipped to deal with all manner of cases, with its’ on site laboratory, X-ray and operating facilities. This gives you the convenience of a local practice equipped to deal with the majority of your needs. Should your pet require more intensive care, or investigations, then we can arrange for this to be carried out at our hospital in Ashford.
