Veterinary Surgeon, Full or Part Time - Falmouth Vets4Pets

Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon

Falmouth Vets4Pets

Full or Part Time

Fascinating career and a great quality of life? You deserve it.

At Falmouth Vets4Pets, we believe that you can have it all. From a fulfilling career with supportive colleagues, through to an idyllic hometown in which you can secure the best possible quality of life, everything is possible when you join us. Take our practice owner for example. She came to Falmouth 16 years ago, and she loved it so much that she never left. Instead, she chose to open this successful practice in the heart of the community and since then we have gone from strength to strength. And now we would like you to join us.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. As a 100% small animal GP accredited practice with an Outstanding PSS Award for Client Service, we are at the heart of community life. Many of our clients have been with us for years, trusting us to take the best possible care of their extended family members. We take great pride in developing trusted relationships with these clients, and we truly believe that every animal deserves the most compassionate care. With the full support of an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery and two experienced small animal vets, we work collaboratively as a team to get things done.

This is a unique opportunity to join a locally owned practice that benefits from a real sense of camaraderie. To make the most of this role, you will therefore have experience of working in practice, and you will have good medical and surgical skills. Bringing a down-to-earth approach to your work, you will be a friendly individual who has a great sense of humour. Crucially, you will be a team player who works well under pressure and enjoys a great deal of variety in every day.

And while the job offers an exceptional level of career satisfaction, it is possibly the location of this practice that is one of the main selling points. Located on the Cornish coast, Falmouth offers an enviable lifestyle that is hard to beat. Ranked as the best place to live in the southwest by the Sunday Times, the area’s residents are understandably proud of their incredible hometown. Every year, thousands of tourists flock to this beautiful part of the UK, but for those of us who are lucky enough to live here, we benefit from a dynamic and vibrant seaside culture, that is enhanced by white sand beaches and incredibly beautiful scenery. With a range of exceptional schools to choose from, a fun town culture with numerous restaurants and cafes, plus easy access to a broad range of water sports such as paddle boarding and sailing, Falmouth is a great place for every age group.

To help you balance your home commitments with your working life, you will be able to work the same four days every week, so that you will always know when your days off are. With no out-of-hours or Sunday work, we are happy to be flexible with rotas to accommodate your preferences, and while we would love you to join us in a full-time capacity, we are also willing to accommodate part-time work too. Quite simply, we want you to enjoy a genuinely fantastic work-life balance, and we appreciate that these small measures will enable you to make the most of the immeasurable benefits of living in the region.

If you are not currently local to Falmouth, then we can also support you with a generous relocation package of up of £5,000. We will also support your ongoing career progression with fully funded training and development opportunities. A generous benefits package is also available including a contributory pension scheme, a competitive salary, great staff discounts and plenty of annual leave.

Join our team – and embrace a quality of life that is unmatchable.

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
