Shires Vets, established over 70 years ago, is a mixed animal practice serving Staffordshire and the surrounding counties in the Midlands with sites in:

· Eccleshall

· Gnosall

· Stoke on Trent

· Stone

· Stafford

We offer a complete primary care services for small animal, farm and equine. The Shires team members are all animal-owners and take pride in providing a caring, compassionate, and friendly service to all our clients and their precious pets.

We are part of the Linnaeus Group, which is a vibrant community of veterinary practices across the UK. We are looking for an experienced vet (5yrs graduated) with a passion for surgery who provides quality first opinion standards, to work within our dedicated and friendly team.

Opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities to drive this exciting side to our business

To lead our surgical caseload at our Stone branch – laparoscopic & orthopaedic equipment. We perform several laparoscopic procedures per week, cruciate and patella surgeries, some fracture repairs and more complex soft tissue surgeries.

Capacity for further development of surgical caseload from within our Shires and nearby practice.

Candidate preferably working towards or completed a certificate in SA surgery.

We have a number of certificate holders and CertAVP vets in various disciplines within Shires and thus this would be an opportunity to join a forward-thinking clinical team.

40 hour working week preferable

Our vets work 10 hour days, one late night (2-11pm) every 3 weeks and part of a weekend shift approximately every 3 weeks. Lieu time given for all weekend work.

· Full time, 40hr week
