Job Details

An exceptional opportunity has just come up for a Small Animal Vet to join this multi-site practice/state of the art accredited hospital! Fully supported CPD and great work life balance with no OOH, 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, 4-day weeks!

Established over 5 decades ago, this practice has grown in size to 7 sites, all RCVS accredited, as well as the main site which is an RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital. Despite this expansion, the values and ethos of the group has remained the same; to offer state of the art treatment and facilities while still maintaining proud Glasgow values.

The team currently consists of a highly skilled team of 20 Vets, led by clinical directors who have a wealth of experience behind them. Supporting the Vets are 15 excellent RVNs, and a well-rounded group of Vet technicians, receptionists, ANA's and management.

The main hospital site has all the equipment one would expect from a state of the art, accredited small animal hospital including an MRI scanner and fully equipped orthopaedic suite. The branches are all modern and well equipped for the majority of surgeries. The most complex procedures can of course be referred to the hospital.

Although there is no OOH with this role the hospital does look after their patients in-house with nurses always on site to provide excellent round the clock care.

Key Duties

The role is flexible in terms of allowing you to follow your clinical interests whatever they may be and where you would like to spend to the majority of your time. You can be fully hospital based, branch based, or split your time between them.

Consult times are currently 20 minutes allowing you plenty of time to provide the proper level of treatment and service for your patients.

A full-time role is for 40 hours, and it is up to you how you split this over the week. There are no OOH, and the weekend rota is 1 in 4 as standard but this is not set in stone.

Package and Benefits

  • £40k - £55k DOE
  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
  • £1,500 CPD allowance plus 5 days study leave however further study is very much encouraged and fully supported
  • Genuine opportunities for progression
  • Massive focus on employee wellbeing

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

Ideally you will be comfortable with routine surgeries and consultations and have at least 12 months experience.
