Job Details

Deputy Clinical Director required at Charlesworth Veterinary Surgery, Chesterfield

The Role
We are currently looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to join our friendly practice Charlesworth Vets in Clay Cross. This is a full-time role working 40 hours over 4.5 days per week. Main surgery hours are 9am-6pm and there is a requirement to take part in the 1 in 5 weekend rota covering Saturday and Sunday morning surgery. There are no out of hours required with this role as these are looked after by VetsNow who work from our building. They look after our inpatients overnight and sometimes leave us some interesting cases to care for during the day.

Although we are advertising as a full-time role, we would also be happy to accept applications from candidates looking for a part-time position.

We are a busy small animal practice seeing medical and surgical cases every day. Responsibilities will include inpatients, operations, and your own caseload. As a deputy Clinical Director, we would like you to take some responsibility for the day to day running of the practice and bring your ideas, thoughts and aspirations and any specialisations will be encouraged. Salary for the role is between £50,000 and £55,000 FTE depending on experience.

We are well equipped with all the usual kit, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, endoscope, and a full in-house lab, with the addition of a k-laser to support our chronic pain services. We are a supportive practice and encourage regular case discussions. Case continuity is also very important to us. As a team we care to the best of our abilities for our patients, our clients and for each other.
We are a dedicated, talented group of like-minded professionals - it's a busy role but you will have strong support from a wise and experienced Management team - an excellent, efficient Reception team and an exceptional, super-friendly Veterinary Nursing team who are hungry for knowledge and keen to achieve the highest standards of care. Our emergency team are on sight so there is peace of mind for overnight care providing a much-improved work/life balance. We are all committed to developing and improving our practice and are determined to make it the best it can be. We would love another passionate, experienced Veterinary Surgeon to bring their own unique skills and ideals for a happy team dynamic and top-notch client/patient care to join us on this journey.
