Deputy Clinical Director required at Charlesworth Veterinary Surgery, Chesterfield

The Role
We are currently looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to join our friendly practice Charlesworth Vets in Clay Cross. This is a full-time role working 40 hours over 4.5 days per week. Main surgery hours are 9am-6pm and there is a requirement to take part in the 1 in 5 weekend rota covering Saturday and Sunday morning surgery. There are no out of hours required with this role as these are looked after by VetsNow who work from our building. They look after our inpatients overnight and sometimes leave us some interesting cases to care for during the day.

Although we are advertising as a full-time role, we would also be happy to accept applications from candidates looking for a part-time position.

We are a busy small animal practice seeing medical and surgical cases every day. Responsibilities will include inpatients, operations, and your own caseload. As a deputy Clinical Director, we would like you to take some responsibility for the day to day running of the practice and bring your ideas, thoughts and aspirations and any specialisations will be encouraged. Salary for the role is between £50,000 and £55,000 FTE depending on experience.

We are a supportive practice and encourage regular case discussions. Case continuity is also very important to us. As a team we care to the best of our abilities for our patients, our clients and for each other.
We are a dedicated, talented group of like-minded professionals - it's a busy role but you will have strong support from a wise and experienced Management team - an excellent, efficient Reception team and an exceptional, super-friendly Veterinary Nursing team who are hungry for knowledge and keen to achieve the highest standards of care. Our emergency team are on sight so there is peace of mind for overnight care providing a much-improved work/life balance. We would love another passionate, experienced Veterinary Surgeon to bring their own unique skills and ideals for a happy team dynamic and top-notch client/patient care to join us on this journey.

Company

The Charlesworth Veterinary Surgery is a companion animal practice. The practice was established by Chris Charlesworth in Clay Cross in 1979 and has been caring for the pets of Chesterfield, Clay Cross, Alfreton and surrounding areas ever since.

Chris has now retired but the practice continues to be an independently owned and run, non-corporate practice, with you and your pets' interests foremost.

Our aim is to do what is right for you and your pet.

We have large waiting rooms, consulting rooms, modern theatres, plus a dedicated preparation and dental procedure room, an ultrasound machine, blood pressure measurement equipment and an extensive laboratory which allows us to provide same day results for the majority of our blood tests.

It is important that you are able to make the best decisions with regard to the care and wellbeing of your pet so we take the time to explain your pets treatment options to you.

Our Veterinary Surgeons and Nurses are trained to high standard so you can be assured of excellent treatment for your Pet and peace of mind for you. If you are unsure about anything please ask.

We provide many services including Pet Health Plan, Repeat Prescription, Out of Hours and Emergency care, some helpful Nursing Clinics. Our website has advice on Vaccinations for your pet, Dental Care and First Aid and many other helpful topics. You can also download Practice documents and forms to read and complete at home. We hope you can find our website useful and you can always contact us at any time for appointments and questions.

We like to mention that in addition to our assistance for private patients, we work extensively with a number of charities, particularly GAANS, SNAR, the CPL and the PDSA. We are happy to support them and we thank everyone for their help.
