Job Details

Calling all night owls!

We are very excited to announce that following professional feedback and an evaluation of our needs we are looking to expand our Manchester out-of-hours team based across two 24-hour centres in this region. This role has been designed from the ground up to offer a flexible, well remunerated package ideal for a prospective night vet looking to make the most of a family friendly work-life balance.

So what is the role?

We are looking to recruit motivated, enthusiastic night vets to work an annualised 1:4 weekly rota (7 nights on with 21 nights off) with a package of up to £45,000 depending on experience. These roles will be based at one of our two newly developed, well equipped 24-hour hub practices. Our practices are very well equipped with all usual mod cons (digital x-ray, ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopy, video otoscopy, full in house labs, etc) as well as plans to site CT scanners at each location in the coming 12 months.

Both practices are supported by experienced and capable teams with numerous on-site certificate holders and links to neighbouring in-region referral units meaning that your cases will be well looked after following the end of your shifts.

This role is intended to be flexible enough to let you maintain a steady working pattern with the option to develop further. We offer our usual benefits (£1500 CPD allowance, RCVS, VDS, BVA membership) as well as support for certificate work if desired. There will also be the option to develop your surgical skills with support from neighbouring practices if desired and we are exploring the option to incorporate a surgical internship in the future with this role!

Who would this suit?

This role involves sole charge work working exclusively nights and will be suited for someone who ideally has at least 2 years of in-practice experience. Experience working OOH is also obviously desirable! Our day teams appreciate good communication and handover skills to ensure your patients are receiving the best quality care after you’ve left the building. It goes without saying that we are looking for caring, committed professionals who take pride in providing exceptional care to our clients – taking your pets to an emergency appointment is scary, and a calm, reassuring manner goes a long way!

How do I find out more?

If the above sounds good and you’re ready to throw your hat in the ring then we look forward to talking to you soon. If you’d like to have an informal chat first – absolutely!
