Registered Veterinary Nurse- Full Time

West Midlands Veterinary Referrals is a veterinary practice based in Burton on Trent that only does referral veterinary work, not general practice. We work in support of colleagues in general practice, taking cases that can’t be managed at their general practice. We welcome a very wide range of cases in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, spinal surgery, and medicine.

At Burton on Trent we have a purpose built suite to provide the comprehensive surgical treatment, advanced imaging, patient monitoring and the diligent aftercare that many referral cases require.

Due to growth we are looking for a full time RVN to join the team

To be successful in this role you need a minimum of 1 years’ experience as an RVN in Small Animal practice, will have a high level of nursing skills and be able to manage your workload effectively.

Working days would consist of the following;  X2 8am- 6pm shifts, x1 7.30am - 7.30pm and x1 8am - 8pm for Full-Time Hours.

We can do the leg-work of ringing the client, booking an appointment, ensuring food is with-held, helping with directions and answering any questions the owner may have in advance of coming to us. You may find it useful to direct your client to our web site. In the section for owners they will find a section called “fact sheets”. The top one is called “Joining instructions” and gives comprehensive information including directions and instructions for patient preparation.

We send a full report on the day of procedures, typically by post, email and fax. We send further reports, typically by email and fax, each time we see the patient for check ups. Detailed aftercare plans are available on this website in the fact sheet section within the section for owners.

We are very flexible, and aftercare can be either with the referring practice or with ourselves. Where aftercare is carried out at the referring practice we can use modern technology to assist with advice from a distance.
