Registered Veterinary Nurse required at East Neuk Veterinary Clinic, Fife.

The Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motived Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our fantastic team here at East Neuk Veterinary Clinic.

As the shifts allow for a varied rotation, your days are never dull. One day your role will be filled with providing excellent nursing skills to our inpatients onwards, discharging referral patients and maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the kennel area.

The next day you can be enhancing your role within the diagnostic imaging department with our CT scanner or DR x-ray or maybe you will be monitoring anaesthesia in one of our spacious theatres or getting the chance to be a surgical assistant.

Then, for a week in the block you will get to throw yourself into the 1st opinion department, keeping your knowledge fresh and seeing something a bit different to the orthopaedic cases we see.

There is something for everyone here.

The nurses currently work a 5 day week, a 1 in 6 Saturday morning and a 1 in 6 weekend, they also receive a long weekend off in lieu of this.

Shift pattern is split between:
•             8am-5pm ward shift
•             9am-6pm referral consult shift
•             8am-5pm/ 10am-7pm referral surgical shift
•             8am-5pm / 9am-6pm 1st opinion shift or a 2pm-10pm late shift.
•             No OOH.

About Us
We are situated in a beautiful, picturesque village in the East Neuk of Fife, a stones throw from St. Andrews and with easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.

The area affords an excellent quality of life, benefiting from beautiful beaches and charming coastal villages, with huge potential for water sports, cycling and walking. The local schools are excellent.

The practice benefits from being purpose-built, affording a very pleasant working environment with well-maintained facilities. We have well-equipped, spacious operating theatres with multiparameter capnography, BP and ECG; up to date imaging equipment, including dental radiography, DR x-ray, CT scanner and ultrasound. We have the use of in-house haematology, biochemistry and microscopy.

We are a friendly and supportive team of 6 vets, 8 nurses and 5 front of house staff. 2 of our surgeons are European specialists in their field of Small Animal Surgery, many of the other vets are certificate holders too. We have 2 ECC trained nurses as well as a certAVP nurse.

We have been known to partake in fundraising events over the years for many charities believing it is a good way to get out into the community and meet our clients in a different surrounding.

When we can, team social events are enjoyed by many in the form of SPA days, dinner dates, bowling and Christmas nights out.
