The role:

Joining our professional, personable team in our Washington practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture. You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

The role is working a 4.5 day week, 1 in 2 Saturday mornings with a full day off after working the Saturday. No OOH or bank holidays.

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Skills and experience:

You must be competent and confident with routine surgery and 1st opinion work. 

The ideal candidate will have 3 years qualified experience with a specialism bias (ideally with a surgical interest), either hold or would like to study towards a certificate. The practice can also offer mentoring on-site for surgery.

Branch:

This branch is made up of a passionate and friendly team of 4 vets, 3 RVNs and 7 support staff including a dedicated Practice Manager. 

The clinic is RCVS Small Animal General Practice accredited and an RCVS VN Training Practice.

Facilities include 3 consult rooms, theatre, imaging room including digital x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy, large dental suit with radiography, separate dog and cat/exotic wards, plus is the only practice in the North East to offer CO2 laser surgery which enables us to undertake more advanced surgery. The practice is also a dental and dermatology referral
