Job Details
**WE ARE MOVING**
Alders are a first opinion veterinary practice who have earned themselves a swanky new hospital. We are having an amazing new hospital built for us within Guildford and we are looking for staff to fill it! The lead nurse we are looking for would be a pivotal part of transitioning to our new home.
We do orthopaedic surgeries and also treat exotic patients. This means we will have a radiography suite and an exotic ward built into the new building. All new and exciting and we are keen to find some nurses who are looking for their forever home.
After moving to a corporate company, I was so surprised at how much Linnaeus are advocates for further development. There is so much free CPD, we have a lot of referral practices as part of our family and so the quality is incredible.
The nitty gritty:
1 in 5 weekends
5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
CPD allowance
VDS and RCVS registration paid
No OOH
Bike to work scheme
Bupa employee assistance scheme
Buddy system
Hours/ shifts:
As it stands prior to moving we do 08:00 – 17:00 or 10:30 – 19:30 shifts. Once we move to the new hospital these working hours are unlikely to change however, I would like to implement set roles to cover certain areas. Inpatient/wards, Prep, anaesthesia, consults and pharmacy shifts. We are implementing a new nursing structure and are creating lead nurses. These are nurses passionate about a certain area of nursing, and would have some line manager responsibilities. As a lead nurse you would be 95% clinical to allow 5% for admin that may come with that role.
This new hospital is a dream I would like to make a reality with the help of some enthusiastic individuals! All nurses are hard workers, that’s no secret but I want to build a team that not only have great clinical standards but want to come to work, and no matter how stressful – have a laugh! Enjoy each other's company and take pride in what we will achieve.
