The role:

Our Enfield Region are seeking an enthusiastic Head Veterinary Nurse to support our branches. 

This is a varied role, providing an exciting opportunity for a current Head Nurse or RVN to take the next step in their career. You will support our new Head Nurses and branches acquiring Head Nurses and work with numerous branches and teams on a daily/weekly basis, allowing you to gain further experience mentoring and managing a team.

A large part of the role that differs is the responsibility of the training process for our new Patient Care Assistant's in our Enfield Region and supporting their allocated buddies in practice. How this will look; when a new Patient Care Assistant joins the team you would be required to ensure their dedicated buddy is happy with the training process, arrange weekly visits with the new Patient Care Assistant to support with their training pack and offer 1-2-1 training, setting up PCA training sessions and ensuring continuous support once the PCA has completed their training period.

The role will also involve support and guidance for Student Nurses if they do not have a clinical coach in their practice.

You will be working 40 hours per week with the standard 1 in 6 weekend shifts as well as a fair share of bank holiday and on-call. Please note part time and flexible working requirements will also be considered to suit your individual needs, however the weekends/bank holidays/on-call will still apply. 

Salary and Benefits

Salary up to £32,000 per annum depending on experience

£300 CPD allowance, 2-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available

Able to claim mileage from home branch to working branches

Key accountabilities:

- Supporting new Head Nurses in Medivet protocols

- Support in the guidance and training of PCA's and Students

- General Head Nurse duties when our Head RVN's are on annual leave
