Roving Veterinary Surgeon required for IVC Evidensia, Scotland

The Role
A unique role, are you looking for something different? The roving Vet’s role is to provide locum cover to IVCEvidensia practices within a given geographical area. There are three positions available. Two are small animal, one based in East Central Scotland, the other in West Central Scotland. One is a mixed position, in the North East of Scotland.

Their placement rota will be controlled by the region’s Business Support Manager, and the length of placements could vary from a few days to a month. The position is based on 40 hrs per week, and may involve ooh or weekend work depending on the needs of the practice. Perhaps sole charge in some cases. Practices would normally be reachable by a daily commute, but could involve short stays away from home, with accommodation provided. The position provides variety, and the chance to forge working relationships in different practices.

Applicant Requirements
The candidates would need to be confident and proficient in all routine surgery (including for example cow caesareans in the mixed position). They should have good communication skills and be able to consult efficiently.  For the mixed job, have confidence in dealing with farm and equine clients. The ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to different practice’s routines, and be prepared to take sole charge, is desirable.
