Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a HSE Advisor to strengthen our existing team on a full-time basis. This is a southern role (visiting our veterinary practices in the south) and may require overnight stays from home. The role presents an excellent opportunity to progress with your professional development.
Reporting into the Group Health and Safety Manger, the successful candidate will have the following roles and responsibilities. The list is not exhaustive:
To lead, manage and promote a positive HSE culture.
Supporting the delivery and implementation of the HSE Strategy across the Group
Maintain and lead a virtual network of safety champions for their region.
Providing Health and Safety leadership and mentorship support to Health and Safety Champions located in practices within their respective areas of responsibility
Arranging and delivering core in-house Health and Safety Training across the business as required
Supporting the investigation of accidents and incidents within their area of responsibility, and making recommendations in order to prevent a re-occurrence.
Providing HSE advice and support to Clinical Directors and Practice Mangers.
Undertaking interim HSE inspections at practices and other Linnaeus Group locations as required.
Attendance and presentation of subject matter at Group wide Update/CPD meetings.
Undertaking regular reviews of action plans at Linnaeus Group practices in respect of Health, Safety compliance audits, Fire Risk Assessments or Enforcing Authority visits/intervention.
Review of statutory inspections (i.e. Pressure vessels, LOLER, PUWER, Asbestos, Electricity at Work, Legionella Management) within their areas of responsibility.
Supporting the implementation of corrective actions following the delivery of our five areas of compliance within their areas of responsibility.
To actively participate in additional training and CPD as may be required in support of the Linnaeus Group objectives.
Reviewing of accident and incident data on the Linnaeus Group accident and incident reporting system.
To act as an ambassador and uphold the highest professional standards of appearance and behaviour at all times whilst engaged on the Linnaeus Group business.
To work in the best interests of the Linnaeus Group at all times and actively work towards achieving the Company’s objectives.
To undertake additional roles and responsibilities as may be deemed necessary from time to time commensurate with the Terms and Conditions of Employment.
3 to 5 years’ experience in a multi-site/multi-disciplinary role
Previous experience of working in a clinical or veterinary environment
Understanding of HSE legislation and its application in the workplace. Recorded up to date CPD
Minimum of NEBOSH National diploma or equivalent, Minimum Tech IOSH
Actively working towards NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities

Previous experience and ability to develop and deliver in-house health and safety training
