Registered Veterinary Nurse - REF JA11731

My client is looking for a full time Registered veterinary nurse to join their busy, friendly practice in Gwent.

The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to work alongside their referral veterinary surgeons (certificate holders). The successful will complete the GA and/or scrub in for orthopaedic and spinal referrals, as well as the occasional first opinion GA or scrubbing in to assist with Laparoscopic spays. The role would also include prepping patients for surgery, cleaning and sterilising orthopaedic kit, assisting with radiography and consultations.

The RVN will also need to be happy doing kennel nurse shifts and consulting.

The shifts currently are: 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm, 10am-7pm and 10:30am-7:30pm

They also currently do a 1 in 8 Saturday morning clinic

The practice is both an orthopaedic and spinal referral as well as a first opinion veterinary centre. They carry out procedures including Hemilaminectomy, TPLO, fracture repairs, lateral suture, arthroscopy, arthrodesis, Laparoscopic spays and many more. They have up to date equipment including a new ultrasound, DR x-rays, scope (both rigid and flexible) and multiparameter monitoring units.

My client Is looking for someone who is competent and confident at general anaesthetics, maintaining orthopaedic kit, and someone who can work as part of a team and on their own initiative. The successful candidate will have to have a passion for gold standard care and be happy to work closely with the current referral team of nurses and vets.
