Orthopaedic Vet - Orpington

Seeking skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon to replace departing vet who manages this case load presently. Salary negotiable with scope to go as high as £85k for candidate with advanced orthopaedic background.

Highly unique opportunity to join a busy hospital in the capacity of lead soft tissue/orthopaedic surgeon. You will ultimately be replacing the existing orthopaedic surgeon and taking on the incoming cases that are regularly referred by up to 10 neighbouring practices. If necessary, a crossover period is possible in which training and mentoring can be provided by the departing vet in terms of orthopaedic procedures.

In an ideal world we are hoping to speak with experienced surgeons who are comfortable with fracture repairs, patellar surgery and TPLO's as a starting point.

Key Duties

• Manage existing orthopaedic case load being which is being vacated by highly experienced and well-established surgeon
• 4 day working week
• No OOH's
• Help with some general practice activities (routine surgery + consults), with day predominantly biased towards advanced procedures

Package and Benefits

• Salary range of £50-£85k

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

• Must be RCVS registered
• 4 years experience minimum
• Existing orthopaedic skills essential
• Holding a surgically biased certificate may be advantageous but not necessarily essential
