We are seeking a Night Vet to join our friendly and experienced team in our new 24 hour Horsford practice in Norwich.

The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with all out-of-hour care within both the hospital and the surrounding Medivet clinics. Here, you will work alongside a dedicated night nurse, as well as having on-call vets and nurses available should you require additional support during your shift.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already be an experienced Night Vet or have the desire to develop your ECC knowledge and skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for emergency and critical care and will thrive on working at gold standard in patient and client care. We are seeking someone with at least 2 years small animal veterinary experience, comfortable with routine and emergency procedures. All our practices share the same software, so you will have access to your patients’ history at all times; case continuity guaranteed!

The role offers flexible working, giving you an excellent work life balance that includes working 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota (please note we would also consider 7 nights on, 21 nights off working pattern on a pro rata basis) .  

7 nights on – 14 nights off Annualised Package Below:

Salary package of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

CPD allowance with CPD leave

VDS, RCVS and BVS fees paid

You will also receive commission based on the work carried out by you.

Skills and experience:

You must be a registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.

This role may suit an ECC Certificate holder or someone who is working towards this - full funding will be given.

You must be confident working sole charge, with the ability to make sound clinical judgement. Night shift experience is desirable but not essential. 

A knowledge or interest in exotic species would also be an advantage.

This is an amazing fully equipped facility with a team of 8 day vets. We will soon be joined by an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Soft Tissue surgery who will provide expert surgical back up.

Medivet Horsford is set in a spacious practice that comes fully equipped with separate dog, cat & exotics wards, endoscopy, digital x-ray, dental x-ray and holds a cat friendly status. Along with our expertise in all furry creatures, we have a special interest in the treatment of exotic pets, making us the best local all-rounder to support your pet’s health. Our specialist equipment enables us to provide a high standard of care for all our patients, including smaller ultrasound probes, endoscopy systems, a dedicated exotics ward and special dentistry equipment and instruments for smaller patients.

The practice is situated just outside the beautiful city of Norwich, offering a wealth of historic buildings, one of the finest Cathedrals in England and a magnificent castle overlooking the City. The countryside is on our doorstep and we are a stone’s throw away from the Norfolk Broads and the Norfolk Coastline, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore.
