Practice Director - Bognor Regis, West Sussex

Established for nearly 28 years, AlphaPet is a 3 centre practice based on the beautiful south coast, which boasts a fabulous coastline and plenty of wide open space on the South Downs for country walks. Bognor is an entertainment hub with Butlins and Hotham Park, as well as a local cinema, multiple pubs and places to eat. Heaps of seaside shops and fun, including the pier and promenade train rides! There is a multiplex cinema in Chichester, with a bowling alley and various big name restaurants and on the outskirts you can even try your hand at water sports! We have local transport links to trains that service Gatwick and London and a short drive to Portsmouth will give you plenty of outlet shopping and links to the ferries to the Isle of Wight and France. If you fancy some history, there is also the historic town of Arundel with the Castle, lake and quaint little shops.

The practice itself has free parking at all 3 sites.

In terms of equipment, we’ve got ultrasound, endoscopy, digital x-ray, cryo surgery, radio surgery and a fully equipped lab.

We work closely with a local wildlife hospital, so if you like something a bit different from the usual cats and dogs, we see a lot of wildlife too. Some of our staff are members of British Divers Marine Life Rescue, so we’ve even had the odd seal!

It’s not all good though. Currently we are going through a bit of a rough patch due to lack of staff and we have had to temporarily close our two branches and out source our out of hours whilst we try to build our team back up. Actually, that’s a bit of an understatement. We have lost so many staff, the task of recruiting seems insurmountable!

Never the less, the team we have left are paddling for their lives and are determined to not go under! We are a close knit team, now closer than ever and we never leave anyone in the lurch. We’re always up for a laugh, though to be honest, we haven’t felt like smiling much lately. Many are friends outside of work and when Covid allows, we often organise days out, dog walks, trips to the cinema, or just out for a drink or bite to eat. We don’t shy away from sponsored events either. We have marathon runners, 3 peaks climbers and castle abseilers, who have all done their bit for charity over the years.

If this sounds like a team you would like to be a part of and think you could bring the smiles back to our faces, we are now looking to rebuild from the ground up, offering potential candidates a very tough, but hopefully rewarding challenge. We need experienced staff in all roles who can hit the ground running, thrive under pressure and know how to lead a team and be part of a team.

We need vets, RVNs and receptionists. We need a head nurse. We need branch lead nurses. We need a practice manager and we need clinical directors.
