Senior Veterinary Surgeon - Melksham, Wiltshire

We are looking for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our positive, hardworking and fun team on a full time basis, ideally 4 days a week, with shifts between 8.30 am and 7.30pm, including weekends on a shared rota basis currently 1 in every 4. Saturdays only, with no OOH.

As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon you will have the day to day veterinary duties such as consultations, theatre work, inpatient care, laboratory work and client care. 

Along with:
• Supporting the team with the day to day running of the practice
• Holding vet meetings and helping with practice meetings
• Supporting less experienced staff and mentoring a new graduate
• Dealing with client complaints
• Having a good knowledge of the business
• Financial understanding of the business 
• Liaising with HR with employee issues 
• Support with recruitment
• Regular communications with business support manager and other members of the company

The Beeches Veterinary Centre is a dedicated RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice in Melksham, Wiltshire. 
We take pride in providing excellence in patient and client care alike, while being part of a fun and supportive team. We aim to make full use of and develop staff skills within an open and trusting environment and to encourage education for our team members as well as clients. 

The practice consists of a separate dog, cat and isolation wards, separate theatre with multi-parameter monitoring system and heated operating table, imaging suite, large prep room, dental tub table, a dedicated laboratory and a veterinary ambulance.

The Beeches Veterinary Centre Team is made up of:
Clinical Director with a certificate in ECC (due to go on maternity leave in October 2021)
Practice Manager who is both a registered Veterinary Nurse and certificate holder in ECC. 
3.5 FTE Veterinary Surgeons 
5 Registered Veterinary Nurses including Head Nurse and Deputy Nurse 
2 Student Nurses 
Dedicated reception team including Head and Senior Receptionist.

As the Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you will be RCVS registered with at least 5 years’ experience. 
Management experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided on the job. 
Being an OV or willing to become one. 
A willing to learn attitude
You will be able to inspire other team members to continue to maintain high levels of clinical care, whilst maintaining efficiency of the clinic’s workload through supportive management and leading-by-example.
