We are recruiting for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our amazing Hendon 24-Hour Hospital in North West London.

Hendon 24-Hour provides all out of hour care to the regions nine surrounding branches, it is an extremely busy and thriving hospital which can see up to 25 inpatients a night.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years small animal veterinary experience, comfortable with routine and emergency procedures. Must be confident with stabilising acute medical cases, unblocking a cat and caesarean - GDV experience would be a bonus!  

You will work alongside an experienced Night RVN plus Veterinary Care Assistant and/or Kennel Assistant. Should you require additional support, you will also have access to our on-call rota, made up of all day vets and nurses within the region. 

Salary and hours: 

This role works to a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota - average of 32.67 hours per week. 

It offers a salary of up to £60,000 per annum depending on experience with CPD allowance, RCVS, VDS and BVA membership fees paid. 

Skills and experience:

You must be confident working sole charge with support staff, with the ability to make sound clinical judgement and excellent communication skills. 

A full drivers license is also required. 

Experienced Night Vet or experience within an ECC role / desire to develop your ECC, dedicated to delivering outstanding emergency and critical care to your patients.

ECC Certificate holders are preferred but no previous night experience is necessary and we offer the potential to study an ECC certificate, if desired. 

The branch:

Medivet 24 Hour Hendon is a bustling hospital which sees a large volume of emergency cases. It houses an MRI/CT unit therefore treats many interesting neurology, medicine, surgical and other cases.

The successful candidate will be joining a large team of 7 permanent vets and large volume of mobile and referring vets on any given day, including certificate holders or those currently undertaking a certificate. 

They are supported by a dedicated CT/MRI vet and nurse, 10 nurses and 5 care assistants. Additionally, Hendon 24hr is equipped with endoscopy, arthroscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitors, in-house bloods and much more! The group is also supported by it's own pet blood bank, laboratory as well as other services.

It supports Medivet clinics in all of North West London but also the whole of Southern England, with interesting and complicated cases.
