Job Details

The Role
We are looking for a full time veterinary surgeon to complement our dedicated team of vets, nurses and receptionists. There is an equally shared rota Monday to Friday with 2 in 7 Saturday mornings and no bank holiday or emergency OOH work as this is provided by Vets Now. You will have the opportunity to work up your own cases with the help and support of the team if needed.

About Us
We are a friendly team focused on delivering the best possible patient and client care. We have received additional outstanding awards in the RCVS practice standards scheme in both Client Care and Patient Consultation Service. We are a long-established small animal practice on the Nottingham/Derbyshire border, with great access to the countryside and surrounding area.

You would be joining an experienced team of 7 other veterinary surgeons, 8 RVNs, 1 SVN, a dedicated team of 7 receptionists and an animal care assistant. We are a busy well-equipped practice with an excellent array of equipment available for you to use and have certificate holders in Cardiology and Ophthalmology.

We are entering an exciting period of growth and expansion at the practice with increased facilities coming in the near future. We pride ourselves on having a friendly team and when Covid-19 rules allow we will often go out together as a practice to socialise.

Applicant Requirements
We are ideally looking for a veterinary surgeon who will take a keen and active role in the practice, who is confident with surgical and medical cases but is looking to further develop their skills and interests. We would look to support and encourage the right candidate to further develop their surgical skills.

Based in Eastwood, which is 10 miles from Nottingham City Centre, we have been a veterinary practice for 100 years, with an excellent reputation for client care.

Lawrence Veterinary Centre is named after the author, poet and playwright DH Lawrence. He was born in a small terraced house at 8a Victoria Street in Eastwood on the 11th September 1885. The practice lies on the ‘Blue Line Trail’ through Eastwood, which links Durban House Heritage Centre with the four Lawrence family homes in Eastwood and six other Lawrence related sites. You may notice there is a plaque in the pavement outside the shop.

We also have an extensively stocked pet shop for all your pet foods, treats and toys and a fully equipped grooming parlour with experienced qualified groomers on hand to discuss your pet's grooming needs.

In 2008 we extended the practice to create a spacious waiting area and comfortable consulting rooms.
