Veterinary Surgeon required at Tower Vets, Perth

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our RCVS accredited single site practice in Perth, Scotland. Perth, a beautiful vibrant city in its own right, is known as the gateway to the Highlands. In central Scotland, you would only be an hour away from the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh but also within an hour of the Cairngorms and picturesque Scottish hills, mountains and Lochs for climbing, skiing, hill walking and kayaking.  We may be able to assist with relocation expenses.

We have an excellent team of five experienced vets and we are looking to replace a much-appreciated colleague who is going back home to practice. The team also consists of three qualified nurses who have been with Tower for over 40 years between them and two Veterinary nurse students, one who is due to qualify with in the year. There are three fantastic animal care assistants who help keep our level of care at the very best standards. We have a great reception team and a practice manager full of ideas and enthusiasm. We have great kit- in house biochemistry and Haematology machines, digital x-ray and state of the art developer, endoscope, ultrasound, blood pressure monitor, tonometer, dental x-ray and a fantastic IM3 dental machine. We are on an out of town site with plenty of parking and our premises are currently undergoing full refurbishment.

One Saturday 9am - 4 pm on a one in five rota with the possibility of a one in six rota in near future. If you are on a Saturday, to help with the work life balance, you get a full day off instead of a half day the following week. Out of hours call outs covered by Vets Now.  When fully staffed, lunch hours and afternoon breaks are generous with some of the vets enjoying a run, dog walk and swim in their breaks. Other benefits include RCVS, VDS, BVA fully funded, discounted staff Pet Care Plan, company pension scheme, private healthcare, 33 Day holidays plus a day off for your birthday, many CPD opportunities and frequent in-house CPD.  There is time allocated for telephone messages and reporting lab results.   We would be interested in supporting further qualifications.

Company

Tower Veterinary Centre, Perth was established in 1990 by Mr Thom.
Over 10,000 households in the Perth area have used our services.

We are a small, friendly, Perthshire vet practice who specialise exclusively in small animals and pets and we are delighted to provide the level of veterinary care and quality of service which is required to achieve a Tier 2 status from The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. This is an achievement in which we are rightly proud, as it signifies a standard of facilities and care in which only a few of our fellow colleagues have obtained.

We pride ourselves in providing a caring and compassionate veterinary service, at exceptional value.

Our custom built Perthshire vet centre allows us to provide 24 hour nursing and veterinary care for in-patients within a well equipped and clean environment. Situated at the west of Perth, near Dobbies and Tesco, we are easy to find and ample parking is available.
