Veterinary Surgeon - Wiltshire

We are looking for a part-time vet to join our team. There is huge flexibility in the schedule so rather than state certain days or hours, we’d rather know what your needs are first, and then discuss if we can accommodate them. Chances are, we can!

ABOUT THE ROLE-

You will provide a blend of consulting and surgical/in-patient care. The exact structure of your day will depend on your level of experience, any additional skills, and areas of special interest.

There are no OOH requirements except a 1 in 3 Saturday morning (9 – 12.30) consulting.

This is a permanent position, however, if you are a locum we’d also love to hear from you.

This role would suit someone with an interest in good quality medicine and who enjoys and is competent in basic soft tissue surgery.  A Certificate holder would be hugely welcomed, also we would be happy to support Certificate training.

We want to help everyone enjoy their work as much as possible, and to have the opportunity to improve their skills. We have enthusiasm for learning, and for supporting growth professionally and personally. A CPD allowance is an essential part of our practice, and it is what keeps us motivated and able to continually improve the service to our clients. To provide the best for our patients requires staying up to date with current knowledge.

In addition to the backup of the friendly vet team at Elston Vets, you will be supported by our referral service provided by the Vet-CT telemedicine team with their superb specialists.

We are well-equipped with DR radiology, recently upgraded Sonoscape ultrasound, multi-parameter anaesthetic monitors, surgical electrocautery, MLS Class 4 laser, and a well-resourced lab.

We offer a generous salary dependent on experience.

ABOUT THE TEAM-

Our USP is being kind to our patients, and using methods to reduce fear in patients when visiting us is massively satisfying, and is very important to us.

The nursing team are supportive and friendly, and embrace FearFree methods. Our nurses are highly valued and run successful nursing clinics (as COVID allows). We are currently a VNTC.

The receptionist team are experienced and look after our clients exceptionally well. As a result of that caring attitude, we have quite friendly clients!

We are in a beautiful location in Wiltshire, with green fields and paths all around. We are also very accessible to the South Coast, Bath, Bristol, and an easy train journey to London. Charming Salisbury is our nearest city.
