Job Details

We are looking for a fantastic GP Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in our branch in Chepstow. You will be working in our sole charge clinic, as part of our larger veterinary group of 10 clinics. We are looking for someone to join us part time, 3 days a week 9am-6pm with 1 in 6 Saturday mornings and no OOH. We can also offer a full time hour position if desired. Salary range is £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.

Chepstow is a single consulting room clinic with separate surgical facilities and kennelling facilities. Our team in Summerhill is a welcoming, inclusive group of vets and nurses. We have several certificate holders in the group, including imaging, cardiology, dermatology, surgery and medicine.

You will be MRCVS who is capable of sole charge. We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, well organised and self-motivated team player with previous practice experience. Good communication skills are essential.

Our friendly team at Summerhill Veterinary Centre aim to provide the best possible care for our patients and their owners. An extensive range of veterinary services are offered. We operate a 24/7 emergency service on site.

We are part of the largest Small Animal Vet Group in Wales, with  ten sites and our own in house , fully staffed 24/7 Emergency service located in Newport. We  have over 100 staff dedicated to the care and treatment of our patients. The surgery has grown exponentially since it was established in 1968 by Mrs Jean Morris.

We have our own in house  lab, DR digital radiography, dental radiography, K laser,  ultrasound, ecg and endoscopes available, loads of patients  and  super friendly and dedicated nurses and receptionists. 

We don't do on call and believe in spreading the other  unsociable hours as fairly as possible. We encourage CPD and further training and offer 5 days and a budget of £1500 towards your  training. We all enjoy our work and hope you do too!
