Do you want to join an independent, family run practice and become part of a team who take great pride in their work? All in a newly refurbished, purpose built practice with a great local reputation for outstanding care? If so, read on......
Due to an ever-expanding case load, we are looking for a further vet to join our team in our 100% small animal practice in Stafford. We have 7 vets including two RCVS certificate holders in medicine and surgery (and a cardiologist starting soon), a clinician with an interest in clinical pathology and vets working towards their certificate.
We are exceptionally well equipped. We offer laparoscopic, advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery and have access to a visiting MRI and CT service. All of this combined with a lovely client base allows us to work up cases to a high standard on site resulting in fantastic care for our patients and great job satisfaction for us. We encourage independent thinking and case discussion whilst readily providing support from senior colleagues. We are committed to making our staff happy by allowing them to do their jobs to a very high standard. We want our colleagues to enjoy coming into work! We find that if we can provide this, then client and patient care stays at a very high standard keeping everyone happy. The practice atmosphere is welcoming, and helpful, friendly and clean.
About our role:
We are looking for a veterinary surgeon who ideally has a high level of general practice competence (although we would consider a well motivated new or recent graduate). It would be beneficial but not essential to have an interest in developing in an area to certificate level. The role would be in a 1 in 5 (soon to be 1in 6) rota for out of hours, a service we are proud to offer for our loyal clients- plus some “fun” cases you just don’t see during the day! We are happy to provide a senior team member as a back up or to be there just to talk a case through.
In exchange, we will offer:
- competitive salary negotiable on experience (£32k for a new graduate to £73k for an advanced practitioner)
- 4 day working week including long weekends.
- We encourage CPD and will support you to certificate level if desired.
- We pay your RCVS/VDS fees and are happy to look at subscriptions to BSAVA/BVA etc.
- We provide a fully funded Employee Assistance Programme for all our team which offers 24 hour emotional support to them and their families if ever required.
- 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays.
Post Covid Stafford offers a combination of vibrant town life with bars, restaurants, a new shopping centre and an Odeon Lux cinema balanced with beautiful surrounding countryside. Cannock chase is on our doorstep and the Peak District is not too far afield. Having a central location in the UK means nowhere is ever too far away and transport links to Birmingham and London are excellent.
