Senior Vet Surgeon

Up to £70,000 DOE plus benefits

Join us for a work-life extraordinary

Our Stoke clinic is located within a purpose-built Hospital, with fantastic facilities. To head up this outstanding team, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a drive for clinical excellence and a passion for mentoring and developing others to join us as a Senior Vet Surgeon.

Together we save pets’ lives

Our Senior Vet Surgeons are leaders. They nurture and support emerging talent and help shape the careers of emergency clinicians. Coupled with a diverse range of cases, a Senior Vet Surgeon in Stoke will lead from the front in achieving high-quality patient care, excellent client care and encourage a teamwork mentality.

Out-of-hours doesn’t mean ALL hours

It is a common misconception that working out-of-hours means you will be working all the time. Our Vets and Nurses find the opposite. Our shifts tend to be longer so you work fewer of them. Based on a full-time role, the Senior Vet in Stoke will work an average of 40 hours per week, This will consist of a mix of clinical shifts and management time.

Working a mix of weekday nights or backshifts and a fair share of weekends (either days, nights or backs) we will work with you to find the right work/life balance for you.

This role is advertised as full-time but we are happy to consider part-time.

Great place to work

Recognising hard work is really important to us. Our employees are our greatest asset which is why we offer a first class benefits and rewards package that could include:

  • 7 weeks pro rata annual leave
  • Your birthday as a paid day off
  • Private medical insurance
  • £1500 CPD allowance plus 35 paid hours pro rata
  • UK Standard Pension contributions – 5% Employee/3% Employer
  • Professional membership fees

  • Death in service of two times annual salary
  • Membership of employee wellbeing programme
  • Company sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay schemes

Company

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from 55 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and three 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 100,000 small animals every year — and during seasonal holidays, like Christmas and Easter, our highly-skilled staff answer around five queries an hour from worried pet owners. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our three hospitals — in Glasgow, Manchester and Swindon — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
