This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with 8-hour shifts giving a good work life balance to the successful candidate. Nursing is split between inpatient care, theatre and nurse consults with no reception cover and a paid lunch break! Supported by our part time head nurse this would be an excellent role for someone who is looking to move into a more senior role where leadership training can/will be provided.
Located in beautiful Surrey with excellent rail links to London makes Woking a great place to work. We have 3 branches all located within a 15-minute drive of each other and our Woking Surgery was purpose designed in 2018. We are a Cat friendly silver clinic with separate dog and cat kennels and waiting area, four consult rooms including a dedicated nurse consult room and a separate quiet room, two theatres (with multiparameter monitoring), separate dental (including dental x-ray) and imaging rooms and a large central prep area allowing for good staff communication and improved workflow.

Cases are worked up to a high standard in house with visiting orthopaedic surgeon and cardiologist, alongside a Feline Medicine Certificate holder and a Surgery Certificate holder in house. Our clients vary from well insured private clients through to large charities. We have an excellent uptake on our pet health Club with more than 40% of pets on the plan allowing us to provide the best preventative healthcare we can. Our nursing team of 5.5 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 2 student veterinary nurses are friendly and dedicated team players who enjoy providing support to our patients through all stages of their lives. We are a friendly dedicated team who in non-covid times get together for drinks and quizzes and for the brave out there the annual RSPCA Charity assault course.

The practice principally treats domestic animals and horses. Advice and treatment to smaller animals is usually given in the surgery, whereas horses are seen at their stables. Home visits for examination and treatment of domestic pets can also be arranged.

We have a dedicated team, devoted to giving your pet the best care. Please feel free to pop into our surgery to meet us.

We have three surgeries to choose from in Woking, Lightwater & Chertsey. Surgical procedures can be booked at either our Woking or Chertsey surgeries as we have fully equipped, sterile operating theatres with separate preparation areas at both sites.

We are able to offer a wide range of surgical procedures in our two fully equipped theatres. If your pet requires overnight care, he/she will be hospitalised at our main branch. On these occasions, it will be fully explained why hospitalisation is recommended and the amount of monitoring that will be carried out, in order for the client to provide informed consent to their pet being admitted overnight. In addition, we have an in-house laboratory and provide diagnostic imaging, ultrasonography and x-rays.

Small Animal Practice

Home visits are available during normal opening hours. Please be aware that if your pet is ill and requires treatment - or in the event of an emergency - a home visit is not advised and you will be asked to bring your pet to the surgery. This allows the pet full access to the required drugs, equipment, facilities and trained staff.

Equine Practice

Our dedicated equine vets are available every weekday for routine visits, as well as diagnostic and lameness work-ups. We also have an equine vet on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency visits.
