We are seeking a full time motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join us in a varied role supporting three practices in the Peterborough area.

This role provides wonderful flexibility and will give you the opportunity to be involved in interesting caseloads with state-of-the-art technology; you will work a mix of sole charge and in multi-vet practices alongside other experienced vets and certificate holders in the region.

The ideal candidate will have at least six months' UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience and have a passion for delivering outstanding care to their patients, as well as a first-class service to their clients. We have an excellent support structure in place and we take pride in our collaborative approach; you will have the opportunity to call upon our experienced vets for advice whenever you need it.

This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience working within successful branches and their supportive teams. 

The role is working 4 days per week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays.

Salary & Benefits:

Package up to £50,669 dependent on experience, to include:

-Very competitive salary

-£7,800 accommodation allowance per annum

-Vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance per annum

-£1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave per annum

-VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

-5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays per annum

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Skills and experience:

Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS and have at least 6 months' UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent experience).

As this is a mobile role, a full driver's licence is essential.

Branch:

Medivet Peterborough Bretton is an exceptional well equipped multi-vet practice. The branch works to a high level, including laparoscopic bitch spays, full dental suite including dental x-ray, high quality ultrasound including doppler and digital x-ray. In addition the branch has a large array of surgical equipment including TPLO kit and operating microscope and full ophthalmology diagnostic tools. Our vets have a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and have a fully equipped orthopaedic theatre. The team is led by our knowledgeable Lead Veterinary Surgeon Pedro who holds a BSAVA's Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.

Our team in Whittlesey deliver exceptional care to clients and patients in Peterborough, from routine vaccinations to surgery and emergency treatment. Our surgery is fully equipped with modern facilities and diagnostic equipment, including X-ray and ultrasound. Our friendly team consists of 4 Vets, 3 RVNs, a Patient Care Assistant and 4 part time Client Care Assistants. Our light and airy practice has been refurbished in the last two years and offers plenty of natural light into our large premises. We offer plenty of on-site parking, spacious reception, staff room area and a garden.

Medivet Peterborough Welland Road is led by our Veterinary Surgeon and Branch Partner Jeremy, who has a keen interest in diagnostic imaging, surgery and exotics. We see all small mammals and exotics, including rabbits, reptiles and birds. The practice comes fully equipped with ultrasound, ECG, digital x-ray, dental facilities and much more! 

We’re located in the part of England where the rain falls the least and the sun shines the most!

Peterborough is a large city best known for its magnificent gothic Cathedral. Its central location gives you the perfect opportunity to explore, the beautiful seaside on the North West Norfolk coast can be easily reached by car in an hour. Peterborough station also offers direct rail links to London King’s Cross in just an hour.
