Veterinary Surgeon required at Scarsdale Vets in Alfreton, Derbyshire

Do you want to work in a new, purpose-built building, with all the latest equipment and have the freedom to decide on the direction of your practice? If so, Scarsdale Vets can offer this at our Practice in Alfreton, Derbyshire.  We are looking for a team to help us relaunch the practice and grow it to its full potential.  Full training and support will always be available.

The team
The practice was first opened in 2019 but due to the pandemic has been shut since March 2020. We are now looking for a brand-new team to relaunch this great offering to the local area. This Practice will accommodate a Small Animal Vet and Practice Veterinary Nurse, and a team of three client care advisors, all working together. There will be the support of our Branch Practice Manager, and the wider Scarsdale team.   As one of the first to join the practice you will be involved in creating the team and shaping the service.

The role
This role is 4 days per week with 1:2 Saturday Mornings. There are no OOH as this is looked after by our hospital in Derby. This role can adjust to fit your career.  If you want to learn about managing the practice yourself, we can help you, or if you prefer to concentrate on building the services you enjoy, we can help with that too.  How involved in the leadership and running of the team you are is up to you! There is no timescale, so the role can grow with you. Building and maintaining your client base will be a key element of your responsibilities.  You will have autonomy for your cases plus the full support of our hospital facilities and expert knowledge from the first opinion day and night teams and the referral services in Pride Park.
With proven experience of small animal care, you will have a good working knowledge of core clinical procedures and will provide excellent client care.  Our customers come back to us again and again because they know we care. There will be some sole charge work at this practice, so you will need to be confident in making decisions.
