Job Details

We have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to come and join our friendly team at Rotherham Vets4Pets.

Conveniently located in a great area of Rotherham with onsite parking, we are very close to both the M18 and M1 within easy reach of Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley areas. Our partner Eric Rouviere qualified in Madrid 18 years ago and has been practicing in the UK for 17 years. He has worked in a Veterinary Hospital, as a 1st opinion vet, as well as running a successful referral service for 3 years on endoscopy, laparoscopy and soft tissue surgery, before deciding to open his own Vets4Pets in 2013 with the aim of providing a high standard of Veterinary care to the pets in Rotherham and the surrounding villages.

This is a three vet practice and as one of our vets is returning to Poland for family reasons, we are looking for an enthusiastic vet to join the team. Our bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose built with state of the art equipment including Digital Radiology, rigid endoscopy, ultrasound, dental xray, ortho kit, MMP kit, Idexx Catalyst One/Procyte Dx, and laser. The practice deals with general cases as well as a good amount of advanced surgical and medical cases and some referral work.

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, ideally full time, although we could consider part time for the right candidate. You will have to be an enthusiastic Vet with good surgical and medical skills, enjoy working with a team and constantly strive for high quality patient and client care. You will be confident with occasional sole charge and there will be 1 in 2/3 Saturdays but no Sundays or OOH. We are also keen to hear from vets who want to develop the medical side of the practice, vets who currently hold a certificate in medicine or applicants who would like to develop their medical skills and study for a Certificate.

In return, we are offering a very supportive and friendly working environment, the opportunity to work alongside an experienced CertSAS, very friendly team, together with career development opportunities, a very competitive salary of up to £55k depending on experience and qualifications, plus a fantastic benefits package that includes; a very generous CPD offering which we encourage and support our colleagues to undertake, RCVS and BVA membership, Pension and exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home and the Vet Group.

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare, exceptional customer service, good sense of humour and would like to join our fantastic team, then we would love to hear from you.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer.

Locally owned practices with a world of support

At Vets for Pets we’re a network of practices that are owned and managed by the practice owners that run them. Because they’re locally owned, each practice has the freedom to serve patients and clients the way it thinks is best.

But crucially, being locally-owned also means enjoying a truly team-spirited atmosphere. We want all our colleagues to build lasting relationships with practice owners and team members as well as patients and clients.

And because we’re also part of a wider group, you’ll get all the support you need when you need it. That means state-of-the-art facilities, high quality CPD, financial stability and a real sense of job security.

With our framework, we’ve made it simpler and easier for you to help patients and clients live happier, healthier lives together. It’s about making the most of your expertise and bringing this to life in practise while being safe in the knowledge that you’re looked after too. Simply put, we offer locally owned practices with a world of support.

Flexibility & Wellbeing
You tell us which hours you want to work, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen. With us, you could enjoy a better work-life balance where flexibility and wellbeing come first.

Training & Development
We offer great training programmes, plus fully funded CPD, leadership courses and access to our group’s learning curriculum. We’ll also support you if you’re interested in owning a practice. With our wealth of resources, it’s easy to build your skills and develop your career.

Local Practices
With us, no two practices are the same. We’re deeply rooted in our local communities and we want you to really get to know your patients and clients locally.

Being part of the Pets At Home Group
Being part of Vets for Pets means you’ll be part of our network of locally owned practices. Our practices are located across the country and are owned and run by our Joint Venture Partners (JVPs). Our Joint Venture Partnership model is unique and gives everyone the best of both worlds. Working within one of our practices you’ll get to work with the JVP who has the clinical freedom and autonomy to do things their own way.

As we’re part of a large respected organisation you’ll also enjoy the benefits of being part of a wider PLC Group. This means we can give you greater stability and job security during these uncertain times and beyond.

What’s more, we’ve worked hard to make sure everyone in our group can take part in a fun, friendly, professional and inclusive culture that allows you to bring your whole self to work and be at your very best.
