Veterinary Surgeon - Hertfordshire

My client has an exciting opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join their friendly and diverse team.

They aim to provide a high quality, friendly, caring service to their clients and their pets. They understand that pets are part of the family and therefore deserve the best treatment possible. Their team of experienced and very capable Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses aim to provide the highest quality of care for their client’s pets. They have six surgeries.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week over 4 days 9am to 7pm with 1 in 2 Saturday consult weekends, 1 Night a week on call and 1 in 7 long on call weekends - Friday evening to Monday morning. When on call you will only be called in as and when required. Mornings and afternoons are spent dealing with consultations and after will be spent dealing with the inpatients and liaising with the owners regarding further work ups required or you will be on theatre duties and will complete the ops booked in for that day.

There main hospital is where their 24-hour emergency on-call care centre is located. This surgery has 24hour on-site nurse monitoring, to maintain all their clients’ pets care and needs. Their high standard equipment includes the latest in Digital Radiography technology, High-speed Colour Doppler Ultrasound scanners, DVD endoscopy, High-powered Dental Scalers and Polishers, ECG & Anaesthetic monitoring equipment.

My clients practice is made up of a team of 8 experienced veterinary surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses and 11 Receptionists.

What they are looking for in the successful candidate will be an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon with great client communication skills, a good team ethic and able to make decisions, delegate and prioritise. They would Ideally like to have someone with an interest in surgery and orthopaedics, but this is not essential.
