Job Details

About us:

We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care. We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry.

We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work.

Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The role:

We are seeking a Mobile Veterinary Surgeon to support our practices based in the Richmond area.

This mobile role provides wonderful flexibility and will give you the opportunity to be involved in interesting caseloads with state-of-the-art technology; you will work a mix of sole charge and in multi-vet practices alongside other experienced vets and certificate holders.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience and should be confident working in a sole charge environment on occasions.

You must have a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills, work to a very high standard both medically and surgically and have the drive and ambition to help develop these branches further.

Experience working in an environment where colleagues support you by sharing skills and knowledge to give our patients the best outcomes. You will experience a varied caseload at each of our lovely practices.

This role covers 39 hours over a 4 day week, providing a great work life balance. This includes 1:3 half weekends (Saturdays/Sundays) or 1:6 full weekends.

Salary & Benefits:

A very competitive package of up to £44,700 per annum (depending on experience), which includes accommodation allowance and a vehicle or vehicle allowance

£1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave, and in-house CPD training

VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays

Fantastic career progression and partnership opportunities

Colleague of the month awards, Hills staff feeding schemes, plus many more benefits available!

Skills and experience:

You must be a Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS.

Ideally, you will have 2-3 years' UK (or equivalent) veterinary experience with small animals, however exceptional candidates with a minimum of 1 year of experience will be considered.

Branch:

This role is based at Medivet Richmond, the 24 Hour hospital in the Richmond region. Medivet 24 Hour Richmond provides a range of services, including X-Rays, ECG and Endoscopy. As it is the 24 Hour hospital in this region, it regularly supports other practices in the area with their patients.

This role will support some of the practices in our Richmond region at various times, as the rota will reflect the needs of the region e.g. you may be covering a couple of the practices for one week. This will be communicated accordingly.

The practices in this region are 24-Hour Richmond, Acton, Barnes, Barnes White Hart Lane, Hayes, Isleworth, Kingston, Roehampton, Southfields, Teddington, Twickenham, Whitton and Yeading.
