Surgery Information / Job Description

We’re a locally owned practice with the support of a larger organisation, our clients love us and we think you will too!

If you are an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon looking to join a warm and friendly team then we would love to hear from you! This role is full time with a weekend rota of only alternate Saturday mornings and no OOHs.

The practice is situated in the ground floor of a recently renovated building with a flowing, spacious floorplan (approx 1950 sq ft). A large, light reception/waiting area leads to 3 consultation rooms. Connecting front to back is a dispensary/laboratory area, office, staff room/kitchen, w/c and laundry area. To the rear are separate wards for dog (4 kennels & 2 walk-ins), cat (4 fitted cages) and isolation (2 cages & 1 kennel). All are fitted with shoreline kennels and have plenty of storage space with scope for additional kennels/cages to be added. There is a spacious prep room, operating theatre (with room for second operating table) and imaging room. Outside is a storage room which houses the freezer and oxygen cylinders. There is air conditioning and extractor fans throughout.

There is excellent private client parking immediately to the front of the building with direct access from the road and a staff car park at the back.

The practice is well equipped to a high standard including:

· In house biochemistry/electrolytes (Fujifilm dri-chem 400i) and haematology (Horiba scil Vetabc plus)

· X-ray generator and digital processor (AGFA CR-30X) with radiograph referral facility installed (VetCT)

· Ultrasound with colour Doppler (BCF Mindray Z5)

· Burtons VetAir dental system

· Burtons instaclave Series 3 autoclave

· Piped in oxygen and active scavenge

High Wycombe is a large, expanding town with a population of 133,000 and has excellent transport links to London, the M40, M25 and M4. The practice is situated on the A404 main road leading into the centre of High Wycombe. It is surrounded by the large residential area of Terriers and Totteridge with many clients able to walk conveniently to the practice. It serves clients not only from the immediate local community and High Wycombe but also the affluent areas of Hazlemere, Penn and as far away as Marlow, Beaconsfield and Amersham. This is well reflected in the high average transaction value.
