Job Details
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join us, working mainly at the main branch (Godalming Vets) with some work at a branch surgery (Woodside Veterinary Clinic, Chiddingfold).
The role involves up to 4 full days (8.30am to 6.30pm) and 1 Saturday in 4 (8.30am to 12.30pm). There are no out of hours duties, but we do share a 1 in 8 weekend rota for inpatients, which is very quiet. Full time and part time applications considered.
Our staff are our greatest asset, with a friendly and supportive team. The main branch is well equipped with digital x-ray processor, IDEXX Catalyst & Procyte, high spec ultrasound scanner and dental equipment, and a range of other equipment that would be expected in a progressive small animal general practice.
You will be MRCVS registered. We are looking for a vet with experience and a broad range of interests. You must have good interpersonal skills and work well as part of a team. We see an even spread of dogs and cats, as well as some small furries. Many of our clients have pet insurance which reduces some of the financial pressure on us.

We are still very much a family run business, although we have now expanded to five branches.
Our main asset is our wonderful friendly and experienced staff, with five associate veterinary surgeons, seven veterinary nurses, two animal nursing assistants and four receptionists working with us.
We pride ourselves on the quality and range of equipment that we have built up since opening our first practice in 1997. All but one of our veterinary surgeries have full operating and hospitalisation facilities (The Bourne is for consulting only, but within a mile of Shortheath, which has state of the art digital X-rays and sevoflow gas anaesthesia). Godalming and Beacon Hill also have X-ray capability and, as at Shortheath, in-house blood testing laboratories which allow us to have accurate results for many blood tests within an hour.
In the event of your pet requiring emergency attention, a full Out-of-hours service is provided by the UK’s leading provider of Out of Hours emergency veterinary care, Vets Now, based in both Farnham and Guildford.
Our nurses run a variety of clinics to encourage the mental and physical health of our patients, including puppy parties (for socialisation and to help puppies feel enthusiastic about going to the vet), weight loss clinics and geriatric clinics.
