VETERINARY INVESTIGATION OFFICER OPPORTUNITIES
Fixed Term Maternity Cover
St Boswells & Dumfries
£45,547 - £53,271 per annum
SRUC are currently seeking Veterinary Investigation Officers to provide cover for maternity leave. We have roles based at our Disease Surveillance Hubs at St Boswells in the Scottish Borders and Dumfries. In this role, you will join a highly qualified and successful team that deliver farm animal disease surveillance and provide a diagnostic and consultancy service to veterinary practitioners. This involves post-mortem examinations, interpretating laboratory diagnostic test results and advising on disease investigations. This is a great opportunity for vets currently in farm practice to gain experience in disease investigation in a supported environment.
Experience in mixed or farm animal practice is essential and a post-graduate specialist qualification desirable. On-going professional training will be provided. Applicants must be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. A current UK driving licence is essential as travel to remote areas not covered by public transport is a part of this role.
This is a full time, fixed term, maternity cover role of up to 14 months.
Closing date: 19 May 2021
