The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a veterinary surgical Intern to join our fantastic team. The role of the surgical Intern is always to provide veterinary care according to their abilities. They work under the supervision of the surgeon to develop their surgical skills. Additionally, the surgical intern should work collaboratively and constructively with the nursing team to provide constant care to the patients, empathy and understanding in their communication with pet owners and referring vets, and to assist the surgeon. Working on a rota with other veterinary surgeons, rota includes days, on call and weekends with time off in the week to compensate.

Our clinical team currently consists of 2 specialist veterinary surgeons, 2 veterinary surgeons, 3 surgical interns, 11 registered veterinary nurses and 2 animal care assistants.

Applicant Requirements
Our ideal candidate will be 2- 3 years qualified with a keen interest in surgery and with previous experience of working in small animal practice. Ideally you will have some experience of seeing orthopaedic cases and experience in the referral setting or internship is preferable but not essential.
