We are currently looking for a veterinary surgeon to join our friendly team in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week over 4 days with regular days off. There will be 1 in 6 Saturdays and bank Holidays are shared between our Veterinary Surgeons which roughly works out to be 1-2 a year. There are no out of hours with this role. All our of our vets' time is split between a mix of consulting and surgery with some also being involved in an emergency and critical care role and dentistry. Consulting is split between our main hospital site at Backworth and our 5 smaller branches. Most vets split their time between Backworth and 1 dedicated branch. A full UK driving licence is required.
We are a large, multi-site practice in the Northeast of England with a range of experience across the team. We have modern, high quality equipment including a CT scanner, dental x-ray and DR x-ray and we aim to provide our patients and clients with a gold standard level of care. Our practice has a friendly and supportive team, including several certificate holders with a wide variety of interests. There is a great team atmosphere and help is always at hand, especially for those tricky cases!
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring veterinary surgeon with excellent communication skills. All applicants will be considered but the role is ideally suited to a vet with several years of clinical experience. A particular clinical interest in surgery would be beneficial and further study, including certificates, is encouraged, and funded.
