We are looking for a full time Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Surgeon to join us 3-4 days per week with 1 in 4 weekends. No nights. The role includes consultations for emergency cases, admitting referral cases, managing critical patients, some medical work ups and basic urgent surgeries.

We are a small animal referral centre, with great facilities at our state of the art purpose-built hospital, including MRI, CT, 3 ultrasounds, ECG, digital radiography and fluoroscopy. We offer referral services in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, neurology, internal medicine, ECC and cardiology. Our practice is ideally situated, within easy reach of the stunning Northumberland coastline and the cultural delights of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Our team includes 18 vets, 35 nurses and a Neurology diplomat and resident. All of the vets are certificate holders in their designated field or in the process of completing their certificates. We are a friendly practice, with a good work ethic and great team work. We will support your interests through our generous CPD allowance and ensure you are refreshed with ample holidays and look after you with our wellbeing programme.

Salary is £40,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience.

We want someone with an interest in ECC or internal medicine that enjoys being part of a team. Ideally you will have experience dealing with small animals and are confident to manage emergency cases. You will have basic ultrasound and skills and able to manage critical patients.
