Surgery Information / Job Description

Our small animal practice in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire is looking for an enthusiastic clinical lead veterinary surgeon and veterinary surgeon to join our busy team!

Based on the busy Borehamwood Retail Park in the Pets at Home store, our surgery is bright, spacious, air-conditioned and built to industry leading standards. We have state of the art equipment including digital x-ray and ultrasound. We are situated just a 5 minute walk from the train station, just 25 minutes by direct train into central London and we offer free on-site parking.

We are a friendly and busy team made up of 1 RVN, 1 SVN, 1 veterinary care assistant, 1 client care advisor and the practice is run by our fantastic practice manager.    

The practice offers clinical freedom and the opportunity to work with a varied and loyal client base, working up cases to a high standard. We see a wide variety of small animal cases including a higher than average caseload of exotics!

Person Specification

We have two positions available, one is for a clinical lead vet who is looking to take the next step in their career. As we don’t have any vets at the moment, this will therefore be the start of building a brand new vet team for someone who would be looking to support and mentor other clinical team members, as well as a more junior vet. The other vacancy is for a veterinary surgeon with a minimum of two years experience. Due to the element of sole charge, applicants will be confident with all routine surgical and medical cases.

We are offering full time hours with a 1 in 2 weekend rota (Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm). There is no OOH responsibility with this role ensuring a great work-life balance.
