As we say sadly say goodbye to one of team to pursue a specialism zoo medicine, we are now looking for a veterinary surgeon to join our successful practice here at Selly Oaks Vets4Pets.

As well as clinical CPD we offer additional non clinical training, from resilience and client communication to Leadership and Finance, for the appropriate person. Particularly those that may be interested in Partnership opportunities, which are available for the right candidate.   Selly Oak is close to the Birmingham City Centre and very well connected by road and train giving you access to London in just a couple of hours. You can also be surrounded by lovely countryside within a few minutes car ride. Being close to the University Campus, there is a vibrant community, with loads of cultural activity to enjoy outside work.

We are based on the Battery Retail Park, inside a busy Pets At Home store. The practice is fully equipped giving you access to digital radiography (both general and dedicated dental equipment), ultrasound scan, laboratory equipment, blood pressure monitoring and all the usual toys.  Coupling this with a varied caseload from a patient list (with a high proportion of insured pets), made up of dogs, cats, a significant number of rabbits, and other small furries and exotics, this enables us to provide excellent care to a varied caseload. Person Specification You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of 3 other vets, 3 RVNS, 2 SVNS, 1 VCN, 2 receptionists and partners Andre Escudeiro and Gema Fraga. Andre qualified at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Galiza, Spain in 2002 and moved to the UK that same year. He recently obtained a PGCert (SAS) with ISPVS in 2020, with the equivalent PgCert (SAS), Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. We also work closely with our sister practice in Quinton who has a similar size team.

Our ideal new colleague will have good surgical and medical skills and enjoy variety within your role. You should have excellent client skills, be friendly and have a genuine interest in animal welfare.
