Job Details

We are currently looking for a Clinical Director to join our friendly team in Durrington, Wiltshire on a part time, fixed term maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity to lead an amazing friendly team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Veterinary Nurses and brilliant support team.

This role provides a great mix of management work, operating and consulting over a four-day week. We have 20-minute appointments and so there is time to examine patients properly and work up the cases. During operating sessions there will be a good selection of routine operations, dental procedures, diagnostics, and more complex operations but with the backup of local referral centres in our network. The hours allow for a nice work-life balance and the role will involve 1 in 3 Saturday mornings with a full day off in lieu the following Friday.

Stonehenge Vets is based in Durrington, a small semi-rural town near the beautiful Cathedral city of Salisbury. Being located on the edge of the Plain we have beautiful countryside and great walks. We are close to the South Coast and with easy access to London and the South West. We are an RCVS approved General Practice with a busy branch in nearly Tidworth.

We are a strong team with a great mix of skills throughout. We are a patient focused practice, and we pride ourselves on our care. The service to our clients is second to none and we are blessed with lovely clients with a large percentage of insured pets. Our communications about cases are frequent, informal, and friendly throughout the working day and we help each other wherever and whenever we can. We are keen to learn more and progress in an inclusive environment.

We are relatively new to IVC Evidensia and we are looking for a knowledgeable Veterinary Surgeon and natural leader to take us to the next step and provide a bridge while our Clinical Director takes maternity leave. It would be an ideal position for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with previous Clinical Director experience, or someone looking to take a step up and climb a ladder towards a future permanent Clinical Director role.

We are a busy Practice and some days the workflow will be challenging while on other days’ time allows for managing the practice and private study. We will require some resilience, energy, and stamina as well as excellent clinical skills and sound judgement. You will be instrumental in ensuring the continued success of the practice through team management, problem solving and working effectively with the Practice Manager and Business Support Manager.
