The Role

Kilbarchan Vets are looking for a confident, innovative veterinary surgeon who wants to make a difference and take the next step in their career in this clinical director role. The successful candidate would lead the team to develop all aspects of the practice including their small animal service, whilst delivering excellent clinical care and outstanding customer service.

About Us
Kilbarchan Vets is a small animal only practice. It is a well-established community-based practice within Renfrewshire. With easy access to Glasgow city centre, it is ideally placed to access the benefits of both the countryside and the city! The practice, like many, was developed originally as a mixed practice and has recently made the change to concentrate on small animal work. We are currently working to improve our facilities and have recently refurbished our consult rooms to a high standard and our reception is currently undergoing a transformation. We have a friendly, enthusiastic team of 4 vets (including clinical director), 4 nurses and 4 reception staff. We are very involved with charity events in the community and have a close-knit long-standing team who are keen to further develop their small animal skillset.

Applicant Requirements
You should be a competent and confident experienced Veterinary Surgeon, with a keen interest in developing the team in all aspects of care, including surgery. You need to have the confidence to lead on a multidisciplinary level - there is a practice manager in place to work with you and support you to deliver your veterinary service. People management is also important, and a friendly open manner is an asset. Management experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as leadership and local and regional practice support are in place.

Company

At our practice we consult using open surgeries. We find this beneficial to our clients as it conveniently fits into busy schedules. Come along to one of our open surgeries and we will be happy to examine your pet and offer any advice needed. We strive to keep waiting times to a minimum but occasionally emergencies do arise and will take priority. We offer an emergency service for out of hours calls.

We do not use a service in conjunction with any other surgeries so your pet will be seen by your normal vet and in surroundings that are familiar.

Our main priority is the well being of your pet and you. If you have any queries or would like advice please call the surgery.

We have recently refurbished our premises with the addition of a new hospitalisation ward, pre-surgery room, fully equipped operating theatre and laboratory. As well as expanding our premises we have refurbished our existing facilities with a new reception and waiting room to make your visit to us as pleasant as possible.

We are a registered Veterinary Nursing Training establishment and a tier 2 member of the Royal College Of Veterinary Surgeons accredited practice scheme.
