Head Veterinary Nurse – Wiltshire

My client’s independent, small animal practice in South Wiltshire is looking for the newest member of their nursing team.

This well-equipped, and thriving practice, has been serving the local community for over 20 years and strongly believes that a collaborative approach between clients and the practice team enables them to deliver the very best care to their loyal client base.

The role my client is recruiting for is for a Head Nurse to lead their passionate nursing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nurse to play an instrumental part in the development and growth of the practice.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is proactive, confident and very well organised who will promote the culture of the business through their effective leadership skills. Knowledge of the ‘Animana’ practice management system would be advantageous but not essential.

Being one of the last few independent practices in the area, they pride themselves on being able to maintain family values enabling them to develop meaningful relationships with clients and patients.

You will be required to lead by example in a hands-on nursing capacity where you will be responsible for the management and development of the nursing team alongside the associated administrative tasks. Such duties will include, but not limited to, the smooth running of day-to-day clinical activities, handling insurance claims, arranging staff rota’s and the vets’ diaries, staff supervision, which include 1-2-1’s and your participation in appraisals.

This is a full time role working 40 hours per week over 5 days. You will work 8 hour shifts between 8am-8pm plus the occasional Saturday mornings according to the rota which is planned well in advance.
