Surgery Information / Job Description
Our team at Banbury Vets4Pets is looking for an experienced, personable and forward-thinking veterinary surgeon to join our growing surgery on a permanent basis.
The practice itself is located within the Pets at Home store in Banbury, which is a lively and expanding market town located just off the M40 with easy access to Oxford, Birmingham, London and The Cotswolds.
As well as a fabulous location, we also boast a well-equipped, high standard practice with 3 consult rooms, full in-house laboratory, digital CR radiography, ultra-sound, well equipped surgical theatre with diathermy, capnography, multi-parameter monitor and piped anaesthetic gases in all areas of the surgery.
We see a very varied case load from dogs and cats to reptiles and raptors, from routine health consults to complex medical cases and orthopaedic surgery. Over 30% of our active client base are insured with the majority on a health plan.
We encourage ownership of cases, whilst providing good support from all colleagues at the surgery as well as those in the Pets at Home store and our support office.
Person Specification
You will be a confident, talented and experienced vet who can help drive the practice forward to the next level at a time where even in these uncertain times, we continue to thrive.
We can offer flexibility around the rota with the role covering a minimum of 25 hours a week and ideally including 1 in 3 weekends. However, for the right vet, we will consider other options so would still love to hear from you if you’re looking for something different.
Benefits
As a minimum, you can expect to receive:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Flexible hours
- Private medical insurance
- Life assurance 4 x annual salary
- Pension scheme
- Paid memberships
- Dedicated CPD including funding towards certificates
- Enhanced annual leave of 28 days including bank holidays rising to 33 days including bank holidays after 2 years’ service

- And much, much more!
