Registered Veterinary Nurse required at Crieff Vets, Perthshire.

The Role
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our nursing team. Ideally, we would love you to be part of our operating day, including schedule 3 procedures if that floats your boat. We would also love you to be confident developing and growing our nurse consultation service. The role is open to development by the successful applicant to make it what you want and what the practice needs.

About Us
We are a small, friendly, community practice based in the lively market town of Crieff. Enjoying all the benefits that rural Perthshire has to offer; with stunning scenery and amazing outdoor activities on the doorstep, yet only a short journey to Perth or Stirling.

We are actively growing and changing the practice to expand the services we offer. We would value input on how we can improve what we do.

Crieff Vets is a close-knit team, with varied interests and hobbies. You would be working alongside 4 vets (some of whom job share), a part time RVN and 3 nursing assistants. Reception is covered by our dedicated reception team, so time answering the phones should be limited! We pride ourselves on offering a personal and friendly service to our clients and this is reflected throughout the practice.

Applicant requirements
We need you to be a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with confidence and drive to grow and develop our practice. Experience isn't everything and we would be happy to welcome and support a newly qualified nurse who is looking for guidance and experience. Equally, if you're looking to spread your wings and take the next step in your career, this role will offer you scope to develop and push yourself further.

Company

At Crieff Vets in Perthshire, we aim to provide a high quality of veterinary care for animals while supporting owners. We have a small friendly team providing consistency of care. Our veterinary staff have a high level of clinical skills and knowledge combined with good communication skills. We feel that building good relationships with our clients with a strong bond of mutual trust allows owners to make the best informed decisions for their pet's care.

Here at Crieff Vets we have been an RCVS Core Standards Accredited Practice since the scheme began in 2005. This scheme by our regulatory body aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

Crieff Vets is a member practice of Independent Vetcare, joining in December 2017.

There has been a veterinary practice on the current site since 1903. This was originally based at Craigforth House and was predominantly a farm animal practice. The purpose built surgery was first opened in 1979 and refurbished and expanded in 1997. This expansion created improved facilities for the increasing number of small animal patients.

Crieff Vets was formerly known as Ashworth Veterinary Group. There had been a member of the Ashworth family at the helm from 1955 to 2011. Gordon was first in charge and was then followed by his son David, who retired in April 2011. Kirsty and Susan joined the practice partnership in 2007 and changed the name to Crieff Vets following David Ashworth's retiral. Both Kirsty and Susan were clinical directors at the practice until 2018. Rona Mckay picked up the reins in January 2019 and handed them on to Fern Fraser, the incumbent clinical director in January 2021.

The practice is now focused on purely small animals.
