We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care. We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry.

We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work.

Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Veterinary Surgeon to join us at Medivet Pinner.

This position is suitable for someone with a minimum of 2 year's UK experience (or equivalent) confident with all routine surgeries, great with clients and with a desire to progress clinically.

Salary and hours:

We offer a competitive package, dependent on experience including accommodation allowance, vehicle or allowance, £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave and in-house CPD training. VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid. 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.

This role provides a great work life balance, 4-days per week, covering 39 hours. The shift pattern includes 1:3 Saturdays or 1:6 full weekends.

You will also be included on our bank holiday and on-call rota which is fair share across all vets in the region. The on-call rota is approx. 3 weeks of the year to support our dedicated night team if required.

We encourage growth and development within your role and fantastic partnership opportunities. We are truly committed to help our Medivet family members achieve their goals!

Key accountabilities:

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As well as your day to day duties within practice caring for your patients and clients, you will play a key role in leading and managing the team. You will have the drive and ambition to develop the practice client base, ensuring high standards of care are always delivered.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively and empathetically, such as good communication skills, mediation experience, and the ability to share knowledge and lead by being an outstanding, positive example to others.
